Renovation
Where restoration means to reinstate a building to how it was originally built, renovation means to improve and modernise a building that is in a poor state of repair. Often referred to as remodelling, renovation can include all sorts of changes that improve an existing building. Modernising parts of the building such as the kitchen, bathrooms, windows and doors can bring a building that is in a sorry state back to life to create a comfortable modern home. During the process of renovation the buildings infrastructure can be modernised. This could involve things such as electrical re-wiring, modernising old plumbing, raising ceiling heights were possible, changing flooring, adding modern communication facilities, modernising the buildings heating system and even adding solar energy options. It is also possible to change the physical shape of the internal rooms during a renovation project to allow for a more functional living space.
Extensions
Adding space internally might not always be an option. So adding an extension is another way of extending the living space of your property to suit your changing lifestyle. There are two ways of extending you building, either outward at ground level or upward by adding another floor. Attic Conversions
An attic conversion is a perfect way to utilise the extra space within the home that you already own. It will mean that you do not lose any space around your property and a well-designed attic conversion can add value to your property. You might want to add an office space or maybe you have a growing family and need a playroom or an extra bedroom with it's own ensuite facilities? Whatever your needs, converting your attic is generally considered a faster more cost effective way of extending the internal square footage of your home which, as a bonus, does not impact on your existing outdoor space.
